Fight against human trafficking remains Thailand’s national priority

Ensuring that fighting human trafficking will remain a national priority, Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha affirmed the Thai government’s policy to prevent and solve the problems of human trafficking, illegal migrants, and abuses against foreign workers, as well as those related to sex tourism, especially those involving children, and beggars. Meanwhile, Thailand’s government is developing a working plan to combat human trafficking and labor rights abuses.

Thailand organizes humanitarian mine action training for Myanmar officials

Thailand recently hosted an 8-day training program on humanitarian mine action for Myanmar officials. Jointly organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Thailand Mine Action Center (TMAC), the program was aimed at sharing Thailand’s experiences, enhancing better understanding and capacity building of Myanmar’s personnel, and strengthening bilateral cooperation in mine action-related activities between Thailand and its neighbor.
