Suthep Thengprakit, a developing teacher from Yala province

“The duty of a teacher is not only to educate students, but also to teach them professional skills and life skills so that they are able to adapt to abrupt changes and challenges, a highly-competitive society, and at the same time, are able to take care of themselves and their families,” said Suthep Thengprakit, a developing teacher from Baan Khlong Namsai School in Kabang district of Yala province. Born and raised in Yala province, Suthep grew up understanding his own roots and his community’s conditions very well.

KTB and Burapha University signed an MoU under the “BUU Smart University” project with the aim to digitalize Burapha University’s services

On September 3 2019, Krungthai Bank (KTB) and Burapha University signed an MoU under the “BUU Smart University” project with the aim to digitalize Burapha University’s services, into a smart and cash-free system. The university’s information system will now be linked to Krungthai’s digital payment service and financial management services will be made available through the Krungthai Digital Platform. Krungthai has also developed the smart "IPAC" student and staff ID card, which also functions as a debit card and access card to other services of the university.

UNICEF praises Thailand on early childhood education

Thailand is doing right by its children, having made impressive progress in delivering early childhood education especially to children in poor communities, according to UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund, which published a global report on early childhood education last week.

“Thailand should be proud of the achievement it has made in the past decade in ensuring that its young children have access to early childhood development and pre-primary education services,” said Thomas Davin, UNICEF Representative for Thailand.

DNP has launched a new trail, the "Thai-US Friendship Trail" at Khao Yai National Park.

The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) has launched a new trail, the "Thai-US Friendship Trail" at Khao Yai National Park, where it will serve as a model learning centre for pollution control management and enhanced ecological awareness. Digital technology will also be introduced for educational purposes to aid visitors, with the new trail serving as a pilot project. Visitors will soon be able to download the department's smartphone app, which will help provide them with useful information at signal points along the trail via Bluetooth.
