Thai Union 's Yellowfin tuna slices, receiving a runner-up award in the product design category at Innovation Thailand Expo 2019

Thai Union Group has won praise from the Thai government for its yellowfin tuna slices, receiving a runner-up award in the product design category at Innovation Thailand Expo 2019. Thai Union’s yellowfin tuna slices are the world’s first pre-sliced, pre-seasoned tuna made from whole yellowfin tuna loins. The product were formally unveiled in March 2018 at Seafood Expo North America in Boston where the slices were named "best new foodservice product”.

The Department of Livestock Development has launched the “e-Smart Plus” system to raise surveillance measures against ASF

The Department of Livestock Development has launched the “e-Smart Plus” system to raise surveillance measures against African swine fever (ASF). The mobile application is able to swiftly scan through the map of small holder farmers in Thailand in order to identify ASF risk areas, allowing disease control agents to work more effectively. So far, the application has helped to assess around 66,500 farms, or approximately 60% of the Department’s monitoring target.

BMTA will soon launch a paperless version of passenger tickets in the form of plastic top-up cards similar to the electronic tickets used on the electric train systems

The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) will soon launch a paperless version of passenger tickets in the form of plastic top-up cards similar to the electronic tickets used on the electric train systems, to allow BMTA to save on printing costs. Passengers will be able to top - up their new reusable plastic tickets via electronic banking apps, PromptPay transfer and other e-wallet apps as well as airtime top-up machines. BMTA is now consulting with Krung Thai Bank to finalise the system which is expected to be completed within two months.
