NIA has joined hands with the Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University in opening the Suandok Medical Innovation District

The National Innovation Agency (NIA) has joined hands with the Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University in opening the Suandok Medical Innovation District; a dedicated space to foster the development of scientific startups and medical innovation facilities. These include, a science and innovation park of the northern region of Thailand and other creative economy startup incubation centers. This is a joint collaboration between public and private sectors offering services to the general public in Chiangmai Province.

Siri Ventures is joining hands with the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) to develop three innovations for future living, including: 1) Self-driving cars that can transport passengers from living quarters to nearby BTS stations 2) censors and intelligent systems for self-driving cars 3) High definition 3D maps. Test runs for the self-driving car will be conducted at SIRI VENTURES Private PropTech Sandbox, and will be the first instance of test run for a self-driving car in Thailand.

According to lead scientist, Dr Sebastian Bhakdi, the test is capable of isolating and visualizing tumor-associated circulating endothelial cells (tCEC) from a small blood sample.

MWA has developed a mobile application that allows users to receive electronic versions of tax invoices and receipts within 1 hour after payment

The Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (MWA) has developed a mobile application that allows users to receive electronic versions of tax invoices and receipts within 1 hour after payment. Previously, receipts and tax invoices were delivered to customers within 30 days after payment in the form of paper documents. With the creation of the mobile application, MWA’s water billing services has become less dependent on the use of paper. The application also offers other services, including plumbing installation requests and water bill notifications.

The Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) installed solar energy-generating panels and other green energy equipment to motivate the public to practice self-reliance, promote green technology and sustainability in the Sufficient Economy Learning Centre in Khoiruttakwa Community.
Moreover, MEA also provided equipment for maximising community solar cell solutions and facilities, which included  three solar lamps in the mosque and sets of solar cell informative tools and equipment installed in the Sufficient Economy Learning Centre.

At the event, there were tests of new inventions to extinguish fires, such as  fire balls and firefighting robots. Those are world-class innovations that help facilitate and support fire fighters in areas difficult to access.

The Faculty of Veterinary Science, Prince Songkhla University has signed a MoU with CPF (Charoen Pokaphan Foods) to study, research, and develop veterinary knowledge for the benefit of animal farmers in the Southern region of Thailand. The research project will be conducted on livestock by experts from the Prince Songkhla University and CPF. The results of the project will be used to update veterinary curriculums, and making them more responsive to current developments in aquatic and livestock industries.

the network of researchers in the Northeastern Science innovation Park (NESP Innovation Fair 2019) at Sermthai Complex, Mahasarakham Province on 12 – 16 June 2019.
The innovation fair was aimed at bringing more awareness to research studies from the education sector to the private sector, as well as applying research studies and data from the regional science network into commercial use.

Pattaya City Hall is planning to put aside 70 million baht for preliminary surveying and designing a light rail project or trams network which will be constructed at ground level. The trams are part of the Thai government’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) policy to develop Pattaya and other areas along the Eastern Seaboard.
