Cabinet approves the budget expenditure for the 2020 fiscal year

The Weekly Cabinet Meeting recently approved the budget expenditure for the 2020 fiscal year for items worth 1 billion baht or more, totaling 19.094 billion baht. The budget will be used to fund three projects that was proposed by the Ministry of Science, with the aim to upgrading research, generate more value for products, and increase farmers' income. These projects include: 
1) The development of a prototype biorefinery plant in the Eastern Economic Corridor’s (EEC) Bio-Innovation city

The 13th Thailand Embedded System Skills Championship

The National Innovation Agency (NIA) has joined forces with the Thai Embedded System Association (TESA), the Fine Arts Department, Silpakorn University, and CAT Telecom in an effort to further develop human resources in the electronic design industry. Together, the group has organized the 13th Thailand Embedded System Skills Championship under the topic of ‘Smart National Historic Site 4.0.’ The aim of the project is to attract investors and propel Thailand towards becoming a source for industry knowledge.

The Department of Business Development, in cooperation with the Associations is preparing to launch a Total Solution for SMEs software, which SMEs entrepreneurs can access for free

The Department of Business Development, in cooperation with the Association of Thai Software Industry (ATSI), Thailand Tech Startup Association, office software operators, Kasikorn Bank, Siam Commercial Bank, and TMB Bank, is preparing to launch a Total Solution for SMEs software, which SMEs entrepreneurs can access for free. The software will be divided into 3 programs: 1) Office Program 2) Storefront Program and 3) Accounting Program. The estimated launch date of the program is February 14, 2019.

The Ministry of Culture has been digitizing cultural data as a part the Digital Culture project Phase 1: M-Culture Big Data. The effort stems from the government’s initiative to expand the scope and connectivity of government agencies’ databases for the benefit of the people. Examples of interesting cultural data which has been compiled for the usage of the general public by the Ministy of Culture include:

Thailand is organising the “CLMVT Forum 2018”

Thailand is organising the “CLMVT Forum 2018” with the theme “CLMVT Taking-Off Through Technology.” The forum aims to strengthen economic ties in the CLMVT region and promote regional cooperation amidst challenges in the context of current global trade, with an emphasis on the use of technology for economic development. The forum has attracted about 1,000 participants from the public, private and academic sectors along with members of the media. The CLMVT Forum 2018 also features more than 40 exhibition booths from domestic and international organizations.
