DASTA has established the 5-year plan (2019-2023) to create the "CBT Thailand".

The Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (Public Organization) or DASTA has established the 5-year plan (2019-2023) to create the "CBT Thailand" brand, in order to improve the competitiveness of community-based tourism. The plan aims to help model areas create sustainable tourism by using the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) criteria. For this year, DASTA has planned to raise to the well being of the local villagers to 85 per cent and increase their income by 20 per cent in the 40 designated communities.
