The Contemporary Southern Batik art exhibition by the OCAC project has returned for another year.

The Contemporary Southern Batik art exhibition by the OCAC (Office of Contemporary Art and Culture) project has returned for another year. Six Thai designers were selected to travel to the four southernmost provinces of Thailand to study local textiles. The Thai designers were joined by four other designers from Malaysia, Indonesia, and The Philippines. Through the project, the designers have produced 51 clothing and 36 design items from local textiles, highlighting the beauty of traditional textile and the adaptation of local craftsmanship to contemporary aesthetics. The clothing and design items will be on exhibit from August 29 to September 1 at Central World in Bangkok.
Contemporary Southern Batik by OCAC is a project under the Office of Contemporary Art and Culture, Ministry of Culture which aims to promote local textiles in Southern Thailand on the modern landscape.
