The acclaimed “In Situ” exhibition at the Bangkok National Museum can now be viewed through virtual reality via the Google Arts & Culture application. This was a collaboration between Google Arts & Culture and the Fine Arts Department of Thailand, and was an initiative of Than Phu Ying Sirikitiya Jensen. The objective of the project is to promote the preservation and appreciation of Thai historic sites all over the world.
The site of the Bangkok National Museum was once an important palace known as the Front Palace, and once served as the residence of the Viceroys of Siam. The “In Situ” exhibition revisits the unique history of the site by conveying the imagination of the past through the technology and artistic presentation of the present.  The exhibition was held from March 6 2019 to April 28 2019 and was well received by visitors.
