Happy and Healthy Bike Lane near Suvarnabhumi Airport

On Friday November 23, His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun (Rama X) presided over the opening ceremony of the Happy and Healthy Bike Lane near Suvarnabhumi Airport in Samut Prakan Province. His Majesty also planted a Yellow Star tree to commemorate the event, before taking a personal bike trip around the premises.

Happy and Healthy Bike Lane is a cycling space that was constructed in joint effort by the Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited and the Siam Commercial Bank Public Company Limited, in hopes of raising public awareness on healthy living and promoting environmentally conscious activities. The name “Happy and Healthy Bike Lane” was bestowed upon the project by His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun.

The project consists of a 23.5 km long bike lane that can support 20,000 per day, a 1.6 km short lane for biking and running, and a bike lane for children. The long bike lane is divided into two section: one for professional bikers and another for the general public. The project also includes a secured parking space, first-aid centre, and various stores to meet the demands of cyclists.

Happy and Healthy Bike Lane is open every day from 6 am to 9 pm with no entrance fee.
