The UK and ASEAN-BAC sign a Letter of Intent on the ASEAN Regional Digital Trade Transformation

Britain’s Ambassador to Thailand Brian Davidson and Arin Jira chairman of the Asean Business Advisory Council (Asean-BAC) has signed the letter of intent on the ASEAN Regional Digital Trade Transformation to standardise and digitalise business documentation for trade within the ASEAN region. The project serves the collaboration between the UK’s Global Trade Programme (GTP) and Asean-BAC to carry out an impact assessment and come up with a road map for RDTT. The project is expected to facilitate intra-Asean and, also, with their dialogue partners in terms of shorter duration and easiness for every enterprises. To ensure confidence for financial institution, trustworthiness, reliability and lower risk of fraud are necessary. The results will also serve as a guideline for the private sector to link with the National Single Window and ASEAN Single Window programmes being implemented by the governments in collaboration with the team set up by ASEAN-BAC, ASEAN Secretariat, experts from and private sectors in the ASEAN member countries and their key trade partners.
