Thailand Responsible Business Network announced that 10 plastic pick-up points will be set up in Sukhumvit area, namely, Emporium, EmQuartier, Singha Complex, Bambini Villa, Broccoli Revolution, A Square, The Commons, Tesco Lotus Sukhumvit 51, CP Fresh Mart Sukhumvit 39, and Veggiology, to cope with plastic waste issues. People are able to discard two types of plastic – elastic and hard plastics – after cleaning, and connect to an “ECOLIFE” application in which points are collected and exchanged for gifts. Supported by government, recycle and upcycle business owner, scholars, and many sectors, this “Send Plastic Back Home” initiative is aimed at sharing knowledge on waste sorting to customers, reducing plastic wastes, and recycling and upcycling plastic materials while promoting circular economy.
