The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has recently organized the “Open To New Shades: Ambassador Trip to Isan” to promote tourism in lesser-known tourist destinations. Foreign ambassadors from 6 countries and their spouses were invited on a special trip around Kalasin Province, a lesser-known tourist province, from November 3 – 4 2018. Activities during the trip included, among others, tours around important sites in Kalasin Province, dressing up in traditional attires of Northeastern Thai people, and sampling local dishes. Mr. Chatchai Chinthong, Director of the National Public Affairs Division, TAT said that visitors to lesser-known tourist provinces can use receipts of expenses they’ve paid during the trip to apply for tax cuts by December 31, 2018.
