As World Blood Donor Day (June 14) draws near, many Thais choose to mark the occasion in advance by donating blood over the weekend at the National Blood Centre in Bangkok. The World Health Organisation (WHO) and the International Federation of Red Cross (IFRC) annually invite Red Cross Societies all over the world to organise events to raise public awareness of the importance and necessity of voluntary blood donation, by showing gratitude to blood donors.

To mark this occasion, the Thai Red Cross Society will be organising an activity under the theme “Safe Blood for All” at the National Blood Centre on Saturday June 15. Participants can donate blood and receive a T-shirt as a token, as well as enjoy fun games and mini-concerts by celebrities and singers. Similar events will be held at Regional Blood Centres nationwide.
