The Department of Livestock Development has launched the “e-Smart Plus” system to raise surveillance measures against ASF

The Department of Livestock Development has launched the “e-Smart Plus” system to raise surveillance measures against African swine fever (ASF). The mobile application is able to swiftly scan through the map of small holder farmers in Thailand in order to identify ASF risk areas, allowing disease control agents to work more effectively. So far, the application has helped to assess around 66,500 farms, or approximately 60% of the Department’s monitoring target. Furthermore, the Department of Livestock Development will expedite an integrative approach to involve all stakeholders, both the public and private sectors, in order to strengthen surveillance measures to prevent ASF in Thailand.
