EGAT will be expanding its EV Kit & Blueprint Project into the commercial sector in 2020.

Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) will be expanding its EV Kit & Blueprint Project into the commercial sector in 2020. The project will be divided into 3 pilot areas. EGAT has been researching modified electronic vehicle (i-EV) systems since 2016. The project involves the development of technologies for converting regular vehicles into electric vehicles (EV). Blueprints and i-EV modification kits will be made available to interested car repair facilities. The cost for conversion is around 200 thousand baht per vehicle. Furthermore, EGAT is considering measures to promote installation of  i-EV modification kits in order to increase use of electric vehicles (EV) and realise the government's vision to make Thailand the regional centre of EV production.
